The Silver Sluggers ended a long winless drought and cruised to a 6 to 1
victory over the South Range Mariners at SAFECO Field.
Silver jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored 2
runs on 0 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Silver finished
with 6 hits while South Range ended up with 3.
Chris Carpenter(15-5) was the winner allowing 1 run in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Miguel Batista earned his 5th save. Wade Leblanc(3-7) was hit with the loss.
'We really needed this win' said Whitey Herzog. 'That first drink of water
at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
