Center fielder Josh Hamilton had 2 base hits as the Silver Sluggers topped the
South Range Mariners by a score of 3 to 2 at SAFECO Field.

Silver plated all the runs they needed in the 3rd inning with 3 runs using 5
hits. Ryan Flaherty opened up the inning nicely when he banged out a single.
Wandy Rodriguez stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice
bunt. Nate McLouth then slapped a one-base hit. Angel Pagan was up next and
he tripled. Hamilton came to the plate and delivered a base-hit. Zack
Greinke then was wild with a pitch. Yadier Molina stepped up next and he
lined a single. Ryan Howard was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
That early scoring held up. South Range made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Rodriguez(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Jose
Valverde was credited with his 1st save. Greinke(0-1) was the loser.

Mike Swanson was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
