Jose Lopez lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI at SAFECO Field as
the Silver Sluggers beat the South Range Mariners 7 to 6.
 
Silver came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on 4
hits.  Josh Hamilton led off and got things going when he reached on an
error.  Yadier Molina came next and he doubled.  Trevor Plouffe then hit a
single.  Casper Wells came up and he laced a single.  Lopez stepped into the
box and laced a base-knock to load the bases.  Elliot Johnson added to the
uprising and hit a sacrifice fly.  Ryan Howard stepped up to the plate and he
grounded into a double play.  South Range made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.  
 
Ryan Mattheus(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Jose Valverde earned the save, his 2nd.  Ronald Belisario(0-1) took
the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of work.
