Rob Johnson slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI and Daniel Hudson allowed Mike
Swanson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the South Range
Mariners defeated the Williamsburg Burgesses by a score of 7 to 2 at SAFECO
Field.
South Range took the lead for good in the 3rd inning plating 2 runs on 2 base
hits. Johnson led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a one-base hit.
Josh Wilson* came to the plate and lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run. Hudson followed, but he was set down on strikes. South Range
banged out 7 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Hudson(1-1) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Jeff Niemann(4-8) took the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 5 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.
South Range now has a record of 39-80. Williamsburg can't seem to snap out of
their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last
couple weeks.
