At SAFECO Field, the South Range fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Dan
Straily(1-0) finally bested his Alaska opposite, Doug Fister(0-1), by the
score of 4 to 0.
Straily was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed just 4 hits
and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. After the 4th inning, neither team was
able to score.
Fister was hit with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 3
walks in 7 innings.

at SAFECO Field in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Greenville came out the victor in the
12th inning. Martin Prado doubled. Nate Schierholtz came next and he
stroked a base-hit. Michael Young then hit a deep fly. South Range was
out-hit by Greenville, 11 hits to 4.
The win was credited to Francisco Rodriguez(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings
allowing no runs. Rodriguez got help from Antonio Bastardo who earned his 1st
save. The losing pitcher was David Carpenter(0-1) in relief.

At SAFECO Field the Colesburg Blazing Aces outscored the South Range Mariners
7 to 4.
Colesburg came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on 3
base hits. Charlie Blackmon kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Luis
Jimenez came next and he doubled. Troy Tulowitzki then smacked a single.
After an out was recorded, Edwin Encarnacion came to bat and ripped a
one-base hit. Skip Schumaker stepped into the box and grounded into a double
play. South Range proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Paul Clemens(1-0) went 3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Craig
Stammen(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of
work.
