Center fielder Curtis Granderson jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI
and Jon Lester mowed down 10 South Range batters as the Alaska Hot Stoves
beat the South Range Mariners by a score of 8 to 1.
Lester(12-1) was very good in the win. He allowed just 6 hits and 3 walks in
9 innings. Alaska rapped out 12 hits for the night.
Joel Pineiro(5-6) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 and 2/3
innings of work. Lester was humble when questioned about his performance,
'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great
support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely
well called game!'
