Brad Penny took a no-hitter into the 6th inning at SAFECO Field as the
Greenville Black Sox beat the league door-mat South Range Mariners by the
count of 7 to 0.
 
Penny(2-2) pitched a fine game.  He surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 5 and
2/3 innings.  Penny recorded 7 strikeouts reducing his ERA from 5.53 to 4.59.
The right-handed Penny lost his no-hit bid when Jeremy Hermida singled with
nobody out in the 6th inning.  Greenville had 12 hits for the game and South
Range had 5.  
 
Luis Atilano(0-3) took the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 4
walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
