Clayton Richard had a strong outing as the South Range Mariners defeated the
Alaska Hot Stoves by a score of 1 to 0 at SAFECO Field.
 
Doug Fister(2-1) gave up the game's only run when South Range scored in the
5th inning.  Alaska proved to be no trouble in the 9th.  
 
Richard(2-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 7 innings. Richard got help
from Joel Hanrahan who was credited with his 2nd save.

Prince Fielder had 2 base hits as the Alaska Hot Stoves rallied impressively
to win in dramatic style over South Range Mariners, 4 to 3.
 
Alaska scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 2 hits.  Yu Darvish then was wild with a pitch.  Dirks got a good lead
and stole second.  After an out was recorded, Jonathan Lucroy came to the
plate and drew a walk.  Dayan Viciedo was up next and he belted a three-run
homer.  A.J. Ellis stepped into the box and drew a walk.  Jamey Carroll
joined his teammates in the uprising and slapped a base-hit.  Carroll took
second on the throw.  Alaska had just 6 hits for the night.  
 
The victory went to Tyler Clippard(2-0) who went 3 innings, allowing 1 run.
Clippard got help from Brandon League who was credited with his 6th save.
Darvish(3-4) was tagged with the loss.

The South Range Mariners readily handled Plum Island Greenheads by a score of
8 to 4 at SAFECO Field.
 
South Range scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with the help of 6
hits.  The highlight belonged to Adam Jones who came through for the home
fans when he belted a three-run homer.  South Range out-hit Plum Island for
the game, 12 hits to 8.  
 
Zack Greinke(6-3) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Max
Scherzer(3-4) suffered the loss.  By giving up 6 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings
his ERA increased from 5.40 to 6.16.  
 
With this win, South Range has a division leading 23-16 record.  They have
been 7-3 lately.  Still in a bad slump, with this loss, Plum Island is 0-10
lately and 13-17 on the year.

The South Range Mariners nipped the Plum Island Greenheads in 13 innings 3 to
2 at SAFECO Field in a hard fought contest.
 
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  South Range won the
game in the 13th inning.  Joe Mauer drew a walk.  Nick Swisher stepped up
next and he drew a walk.  Yonder Alonso then ripped a base-hit giving South
Range the victory and sending the 39,551 home-town fans home happy.  South
Range totaled 10 hits on the night.  
 
Hisashi Iwakuma(3-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Michael
Bowden(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing
no hits and 2 walks.

Catcher Joe Mauer had 3 base hits as the South Range Mariners defeated the
Plum Island Greenheads in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at SAFECO
Field.
 
The score was tied at 5 after nine.  Finally, South Range prevailed in the
11th inning.  Alcides Escobar stroked a one-base hit.  Escobar was safe at
second on a stolen base.  Dustin Ackley then laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, Michael Bourn stepped up to the plate and he slapped a
base-hit making South Range victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  South Range totaled 10 hits on the night.  
 
Hisashi Iwakuma(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and
allowing no runs. The loss was charged to Kelvin Herrera(0-1) in relief.  He
allowed 2 hits and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.  
 

Maholm Stays Perfect (4-0) Beats Mariners.

Paul Maholm(4-0) and Clayton Richard(1-4) dueled it out with Maholm and the
Gotham City Gargoyles coming out on top of the South Range Mariners by the
score of 2 to 1.
 
South Range was unable to climb back into it after Gotham City went ahead for
good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one runner.  After two outs Carlos
Gomez drew a walk.  Gomez was safe on a stolen base.  Willie Bloomquist then
banged out a single.  The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither
team was able to score again.  
 
Fernando Rodney gained credit for his 11th save.  Wayne Foulke was just happy
to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get
the monkey off our back.  Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind
of baseball of which we are capable.'

Zack Greinke pitched 8 strong innings as the South Range Mariners defeated the
Gotham City Gargoyles 6 to 4 at SAFECO Field.
 
South Range jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating one
baserunner.  After two were out Adam Jones blasted a solo shot.  David Wright
got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Gotham
City had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
Greinke(5-3) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. A.J. Burnett(1-3)
was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 5 innings giving up 3 hits and 1
walk.
 
Wayne Foulke was clearly disappointed after the game.  'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'

Yu Darvish retired 14 batters on strikeouts at SAFECO Field as the South Range
Mariners came back dramatically to top the Mansfield Mounties by the score of
3 to 2.
 
South Range had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs. Adam Jones
led off the inning for South Range when he drew a walk.  After an out was
recorded, Joe Mauer stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Nick Swisher
then drew a walk to load the bases.  Yonder Alonso followed and he reached on
an error giving South Range the victory as 45,367 happy fans celebrated
wildly.  South Range had only 5 hits for the game.

Pedro Strop(0-3) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and no hits in

Mike Swanson was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty

Paul Goldschmidt left the yard and had 2 RBI as the Waikiki Rabbits beat the
South Range Mariners in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 4.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Waikiki was
victorious in the 11th inning.  Jay Bruce kicked off the action when he
doubled.  Goldschmidt stepped up next and he doubled.  After an out was
recorded, Ian Kinsler stepped up to the plate and he tripled.  South Range
had 13 hits in the game while Waikiki had 7, but Waikiki had the more timely
hits.  
 
The victory was credited to Steve Delabar(1-3) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Delabar got relief help from Boone Logan who gained credit for his 1st
save.  Darren O'Day(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief.

Cabrera led the offense for Waikiki.  He slapped a one-base hit in the 2nd
inning, blasted a solo shot in the 4th inning and clubbed a solo home run in
the 8th inning.  Overall Waikiki out-hit South Range 9 to 6.  
 
Ryan Vogelsong(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Vogelsong was helped out by Ernesto Frieri who recorded his
1st save.  Clayton Richard(1-2) was the losing pitcher.  
 
Matt Wright was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games
-- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back.  Now maybe we can relax a
little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.

South Range scored 6 runs in the decisive bottom of the 6th inning with the
help of 7 hits.  The big moment was provided by Swisher who made the crowd
happy when he lofted a three-run 'big-fly'.  South Range had 15 hits for the
